Cocktail Making With Wray & Nephew

With Wray & Nephew’s White Overproof Rum being notorious for its great strength, there has always been a common misconception that this drink is best served up as just a shot for the ‘wow’ factor. With Wray & Nephew’s 190 years of history stemming from Jamaica, the White Rum is more than just a drink, it embodies the Jamaican culture as a whole, and has always remained flavourful. full of strength (of course) and full of character.

Whilst changing misconceptions is always tricky, sharing an experience that involves enjoying Wray & Nephew in various other ways besides downing shots can can definitely influence other’s ideas on how to make great use of it and enjoy whilst doing so.

For someone who is always up for a challenge, I couldn’t turn down one that involved a make-shift cocktail tasting session involving the rum, and sharing the delicious way(s) in which the drink can be enjoyed.

Having tried a total number of three different recipes with Wray & Nephews Overproof Rum as the key ingredient, I was instantly drawn to a bright and colourful number; Reggae Rum Punch. This specific recipe holds great nostalgic value, as it was quick to remind me of the numerous house parties I’d attend back in the day with rum punch on standby at all times!
