Hôtel Basss

Propped up in the heart of the historic Montmartre village and 18th arr., amongst a heap load of restaurants, cafes, and shops, Hôtel Basss is a hotel fit for those interested in architecture, museums and monuments. The hotel itself boasts a retro look with upcycled touches inspired by American graphic designer Saul Bass. It being my first time staying in the Montmartre district during my short trip to Paris the other week, I would happily stay in the area again. It grew to become my favourite part of the city so far, spending most of my time getting lost in its beautiful cobbled streets, snapping pics at any given opportunity, especially of wall art.

The notable Sacré-Coeur Basilica is just a short (but steep) 10-minute walk away. Moulin Rouge is also a 5-minute walk away. Other interests across the city are easily accessible from a few metro stations dotted around Hôtel Basss, which include Abbesses (300 yard walk), Blanche and Pigalle.

Every morning a delicious breakfast buffet is available to enjoy in the lounge area & terrace of the hotel. We were given a cosy sound-proofed double room situated on the 6th and last floor of the hotel, with a view to really appreciate, overlooking the bustling streets from our small balcony. Features included a private bathroom with a shower, TV with satellite channels, an espresso maker, phone, and work station. Interior decor wise, I much preferred the rest of the hotel in comparison to the room, as a lot more could be done when it comes to the colour schemes and furnishing. Other than that, everything was a-okay.

Hotel Basss also offers many facilities that make your stay in Paris that every inch of good, such as free WiFi access, a computer station, a lift, family rooms, 24-hour front desk that can assist with concierge services, looking after your valuables, airport transfers, and luggage storage.

An offer I fully appreciated was their 'happy-time' service running between 2pm-7pm, with fresh American pastries, Nespresso coffee, and a few more treats to devour in the lounge. Also, as a guest of Hôtel Basss, you have full access to the happy-time service located in the lounge area of all HappyCulture Collection hotels throughout the city and are more than welcome to drop off your shopping bags, borrow an umbrella, or charge your mobile phone. How handy is that?!

The staff were very welcoming and dealt with our needs in a timely, pleasant, and friendly manner. I couldn't have asked for better hospitality.

Thank you Hôtel Basss & Buzz&Go or having me on this complimentary stay!
