The Hoxton Hotel Shoreditch Review

A few months back I was invited to stay the night at The Hoxton Shoreditch Hotel. Due to the fact I lost most of the pictures I took during my stay to my untrustworthy Laptop's hard-drive, there has been a slight delay in getting this post up, but it's here finally!

LOCATION

81 GREAT EASTERN ST, LONDON,
EC2A 3HU

Situated in the busy streets of Shoreditch - Great Eastern Street, The Hoxton Hotel is no more than a 10 minute ride away from Liverpool Street Station, and a 10 minute walk from Old Street Station or Shoreditch High Street Station. Me and my sister managed to catch a bus from Liverpool Street, and were dropped off directly in front of the hotel which was super convenient. There were plenty of food shops to pick from in the area if you're not too keen on The Hoxton Grill, located inside the hotel (pretty sure that you would be interested anyway!)

FIRST IMPRESSIONS

We arrived at the Hotel in the late afternoon, and the atmosphere was already buzzing and lively, as the service at the Hoxton Grill and bar was in full swing. We were kindly greeted by the staff and given information about the hotel. Once I was handed the keys, we made our way to the room. What is a great hotel without great hospitality? The staff did well with that right off the bat, so I was happy! Arriving in our room, we were welcomed with a little note from the team which was a lovely gesture!

The next morning, the hotel grounds were quiet and pretty empty, so we were able to explore a little bit. I was thoroughly impressed by the hip and retro interior design and decor of the hotel, as I'm so used to the contemporary, and quite modern look (my personal favourite). What I loved about the interior, were the little things, such as the fireplace place in the lounge, the cool picture frames up on the walls, and of course the hundreds of books dotted here and there around the hotel. Even the retro inspired ironing rooms on each floor are something to look out for!

THE ROOM

I love how the Hoxton make their rooms as home like as they can. A leather arm chair was propped up in the corner, a bookshelf stacked full with books of different genre's, a cute wooden desk with guides to Shoreditch and the usual coffee station. Not forgetting the biggest wall (selfie) mirror I ever did see, definitely something I need in the future. I have a thing for bathrooms, so I was excited to see how this one looked, and it was very stylish - glossy dark brown tiles, a walk-in shower with rainfall head, and a lovely lit up glam mirror, and of course a toilet ha.

Saving the best thing about the room 'til last - the beddd. I have never, and I mean never, laid in a bed as soft and comfortable as the one in our room. You literally sink into it. It takes me a while to get to sleep once I get in bed, but I'm sure I was out in 10 due to how comfortable I felt sprawled out in it! It got to the point where I wanted to ask the staff what kind of mattresses were used in the hotel!
Fast free Wi-Fi is also included in all rooms and around the hotel grounds also.

You are also treated to a complimentary breakfast snack bag. We obviously made use of it, as who doesn't like free stuff (especially when food is involved)?! You just fill out a little form on the given paper bags and hang them outside your door and in the morning, the bags are filled with nutritious goodies. These are perfect for those who have to be up early, and don't have time to sit down for breakfast!

Overall, my stay at the Hoxton Hotel was delightful! If I ever find myself needing a place to stay in London other than my own home, I'll be sure to pay this hotel a visit again! The vibe of the hotel was great and the staff were again friendly, and helpful! The location is perfect for anyone intrigued by the buzzing atmosphere of good old East London!
