Review | Petit Palace Santa Barbara Hotel

I recently just got back from a great trip to Madrid. I would definitely encourage anyone to visit this beautiful city! One thing I'm obsessed with is finding the right hotel for me and my party. This time it was a family getaway, so I had to find a place fit for a rowdy bunch!
With location and a decent price in mind we went for the amazing Petit Palace Santa Barbara Hotel. What drew me to the hotel was the modern look to it (I'm a sucker for a hotel with cool modern interior and design) and its close to central location in the city.

Location
The hotel is located in Santa Babara Town square (outskirts of Chueca District) on Alonso Martinez. Main attractions such as Gran Via and Puerto del Sol are within close walking distance (10-15 mins) from the hotel. If you're not too keen on walking, you can always take the metro which is only  a few metres away from the hotel! If you're a food lover like me, you will very much appreciate the abundance of restaurants and bars dotted near the hotel, so convenient - especially when you're feeling lazy and don't want to travel far to eat!

The Room
We stayed in a family room which included a King-sized bed and 2 bunk beds. The Petit Palace chain are known for their high-tech room amenities (included in every guest room) - we made very good use of the flat screen TV, laptop iPod dock and free Wi-Fi, and although not quite high-tech, the biggest mirror to fulfil our mirror selfie needs! Air/Con was there to keep us cool inside, despite the scorching heat outside.
I loved the minimalistic feel to the furnishing which complemented the grey, white and black colour scheme. Our room was facing the square  so we had a nice view from our Juliette balconies on the 3rd floor. Mind you, if you're not a heavy sleeper, you may find the loud noise of people socialising into early hours of the morning quite unappealing, however, it wasn't a problem for us. My advice would be to get a room facing away from the street and looking over the courtyard. With security being a big thing whilst travelling, we were content with the room safe, which is locked by your personal bank card and that card only. Outside each guestroom is a light which is initially blue when you're not in but turns red once you're inside with the room card. A great way to avoid the "would you be able to come back later please?" question when the room attendant knocks.

Bathroom
This had to be one of the best things in our family room! A large and spacious bathroom with the sleekest design and modern fixtures - glossy marble tiled walls, dramatic lighting, and a mirror that will have you admiring/staring at yourself for a good 10 minutes ha! Not to forgot the hydro-massage shower that would have you in a trance!

Food
Bed and Breakfast was included with our stay so believe I was stuffing my face with unlimited amounts of bread, pastries, cheese, chorizo, fresh fruits and juices! The restaurant only serving breakfast was no problem at all due to the fact that there were plenty of restaurants to eat at outside of the hotel.

Extras
Bikes were free to rent to discover the city in a different way! The spacious courtyard turns into a bar in the evening also.

The staff were very friendly and were there to help us with anything we needed during our stay. If I could magically add some on-site amenities, they would be a gym/fitness room, pool and spa, then the hotel would be a perfect 10. I would score my hotel experience here a 9 out of 10.
Petit Palace Santa Barbara is the perfect hotel for families, couples, groups of friends, and those on business trips - basically anyone! I would recommend the hotel to a best friend so I would for sure recommend this hotel to anyone looking to visit Madrid! When I do come back to this city, I shall be revisiting this particular hotel!
