The Moment You Know

The run up to the always highly anticipated Valentine's Day can sometimes be an awkward one for the singletons of this world, or just another normal day on the calendar as it is for me. A day and that only seems right to celebrate if you have a romantic relationship with a significant other to honour. However, new trends can set in place showing a change in cultural expectations. This year I want to approach this romantic day in a different perspective, a new light. In a time and generation where the value of friendship is placed high, platonic friendships are just as important as relations we share with a significant other, thus they should be celebrated too! Whether you're single or not, it's nice to shed a little light on other meaningful relationships such as friendships that hold a special place in your heart.

THE MOMENT YOU KNOW ... when you have found a best friend for life. In my case, I have not yet experienced the feeling or moment of finding my one true love, but I can say that I have scored myself a quality friend for life. Me and my partner in crime Wendy started our friendship during our first week as eleven year old's entering a whole new world that we all know as secondary school. Right off the bat, we developed a strong bond which stayed put throughout our adventurous and very memorable adolescence years.

The moment I was able to open up and share secrets, feelings, troubles, personal belongings (being quite a wary and reserved person) with her and realising we shared the same quirky sense of humour, was when I knew that I had found myself a true friend for life. We have too many things in common that it almost doesn't seem right?!

Secondary school was done, and we ended up attending the same college, and our friendship continued to blossom. Fast forward a few years, we've both grown into ambitious young women, and although we don't get to see each other as much as before, it's never a dull moment when we reunite to catch up on life. When it comes to gifting for occasions like Valentine's Day, jewellery will always be a big contender–you can never go wrong with a stunning piece that holds meaning and value behind it.

Of course, that is where Links of London naturally comes in. Nothing more befitting to a BBF relation than a friendship bracelet, which is why I opted for Links of London's True Friendship Sterling Silver Bracelet, as the piece of jewellery that best represents our solid union. The modern and minimalistic design from their friendship collection embodies the everlasting bond that unites true friends. With a great number of creative and specific jewellery collections they have to offer, there's bound to be a piece that marks and represents your special moment perfectly.
