2017

Not much reflecting went on during the run-up to the 2017 but as we enter a New Year today, a few thoughts have started brewing. Of course a few lessons were learnt here and there, but that will always occur. New Year New Me? No. Nothing particularly new around here, apart from the fact that yours truly has kicked her terrible eating habits to the kerb, exercises five days a week, now looks forward to taking risks, and has become her own boss.

Mid 2016 struck and I found myself entering the sixth year at my part-time job that I'd held onto since college. Fast forward to November, the spontaneous decision to draw the line and call it a day there came through. The thought of working for myself and being my own boss appealed to me as it was finally attainable. Maintaining this little blog full-time and being a freelancer will of course come with its struggles but I'm ready for it. Last year I can admit to neglecting Hands of Style a little–something that cannot resurface again in this lifetime!

Here's to being a little more optimistic for year 2017, not dwelling on the mistakes or negative aspects of the past but better yet learning from them as usual, living well and enjoying life in the present, and believing in the future.

Wishing you all a very happy and amazing year ahead *throws glitter*!
