What to Wear: Valentine's Day

Although the act of love is something best expressed on a day-to-day basis, there's no harm in making Valentine's Day the perfect excuse and occasion to play dress up. In this day and age, February 14th is perceived and celebrated in so many different ways, or just not even thought about at all. But for those who do take an interest, whether it be brunch that turns into a fun filled cocktail night with the BFFs, venturing out on a date, or simply enjoying one's own company, here's a simple, chic and refined look that caters to all those different ways of making the most of the day...

Shifting away from dresses for a minute, perhaps indulge in a fancy blouse and trouser combination? There's something very appealing about a loose fitted shirt with romantic ruffles and frills. This particular Topshop shirt which oozes a hint of Victorian influence really pushes through as a statement piece. Not to forget, the plush baby blue hue and satin finish are to die for. The appreciation for a pair of trousers with elaborate hem detailing still rules and this ruffled Topshop pair harmonise well with the satin shirt. Black heeled boots will always hold the crown for being the footing base of an undeniably good outfit, so never overlook them!
