Monochromatic: Painting the Town Orange

July 13, 2016

Throwing on this orange ensemble, I was yet to acknowledge my impromptu take on Orange Is The New Black's Piper Chapman's prison attire (and many other prisoners out there at that) until now, as I type. Don't you just love it when two separates match perfectly well in colour and shade? As previously stated, I'm all for vibrant colour these days, but of course the neutrals will always have a place in my heart. With much love for a polished all black or all white look, I had yet to try a monochromatic look with a pop of colour (best styled by the one and only Solange), so here we are...

Tips for nailing the Monochromatic trend:

- Keep it simple - Single colour outfits can be quite bold straight off the bat, so less fuss is the way to go.
- Play with subtle textures - To add some depth and dimensions to you look.
- Try different shades of the same hue - Great way to create some contrast.

  1. It's always great when separate pieces just work as if they are co-ords made for each other. Now I am absolutely in love with this look, the colour is very flattering on you and I love those trousers especially. This is a dope way to rock monochrome.
