Blackout

August 16, 2015

Ever since stumbling across WSJ Magazine's April 2015 Island Retreat editorial, I couldn't get over a particular alluring all black look. The model Vanessa Axente, donned a pretty expensive and sheer, Yohji Yamamoto jumpsuit - perfectly placed over a bra top and pants, the perfect beach look. The effortless draping and relaxed, oversized silhouette of the high end piece had me at hello!

Needless to say, the look inspired this outfit, and I would happily wear it everyday if I could. Well I technically can ... if I didn't give two hoots for my personal hygiene, and the well being of those around me...

It's funny how I opted to wear the shirt and trousers, as all I wanted was a quick bite to eat in busy Greenwich town. The weather was perfect with a light refreshing breeze, the sun was almost setting, and it just felt right to jump into this light and airy duo. I even put my new pointed boots from New Look  to the test, just a day after receiving them from the Fashionchick dinner I attended with a few lovely bloggers.

  6. Cheers, I'm in love with this look! I'm personally a straight leg kinda person, but your wide leg pants are making me wonder! All black outfits are just so mysterious and elegant.
I'm thrilled you mentioned Yohji Yamamoto, it's fitting for this post, isn't he the King of all black looks?
