This post is my entry to a fab competition that Fashion Chick are currently holding.
Fashion Chick is a convenient social shopping website that gives you many online stores to shop from with the addition of useful tips and unlimited inspiration.
They're giving us fashion bloggers a chance to win the ultimate trip to Amsterdam during Amsterdam Fashion Week for January 2014! I have never visited this capital before, and I have always wanted to, so this to me is an amazing opportunity!
Fashion Chick are looking for one blogger each from the UK, France, USA, Germany and the Netherlands to experience Amsterdam Fashion Week. The one lucky UK blogger will be treated to return flights to Amsterdam, two nights accommodation at the 4* Art Hotel Amsterdam, entry to exclusive Amsterdam Fashion Week
shows and a Blogger Luncheon. Also, the Fashion Chick editorial team will interview the winning blogger and this will be published in an article featured on Fashion Chick. Sounds like a dream right?!
Let's talk about my outfits then! I thought why not create two? One for day one and the other for day two, and a cheeky look inside my bag!
Day One: I decided to go for a look that embraces different textures - denim, leather, felt, and wool in a subtle way! The cut out boots and a classic leather jacket are the pieces that give the outfit it's coolness. Bearing in mind the temperatures during January, this stylish heavy knit jumper would work a treat. The low temperatures may numb my legs a little, but I couldn't resist pairing the jumper with this gorgeous distressed midi denim skirt! How cute is this hat with ears from Monki?! It adds a youthful vibe to the look. I love matching my accessories/jewellery to what I'm wearing, so the silver watch, necklace and bag with silver hardware work well!
Day Two: This look is definitely more sophisticated. I love playing around with masculine shapes and adding a bit of femininity to it. Everyone is going crazy for camel coats this Winter and I understand why! This particular one from Zara is a winner, as the style of it is perfect. I do love a good pair of trousers, the grey colour very much complements the camel coat. Tartan is another cool trend that is everywhere! I love this top, as it's a different take on the original tartan design, brings the outfit together. These gorgeous patent burgundy heels add a nice pop of colour.
When the feet get tired, I'll be sure to pull out a pair flats to save the day!
Essentials: When it comes to fashion week, there are a few essentials that would get me through the day! A camera is a must for me, as I love taking street style snaps, pictures of my favourite outfits from catwalk shows and of course an outfit of the day of myself! A beauty bag just helps keep everything together, so that would include my signature dark lipstick (complements the outfits) and lip balm (perfect for keeping my lips moisturised in the cold weather). A notebook is perfect for dotting down current trends and details I see during the shows, so it's easier to blog about! Lastly a bottle of water is important to keep me hydrated throughout the day!
